‘Peter Pan’ brings Neverland magic

Posted

A number of talented young actors, one as young as 4 years old, made their stage debut at the Pride Performing Arts Inc. in downtown Sayville this weekend with a production of “Peter Pan.”

The beloved tale of J.M. Barrie was brought to life with lively costumes and sets that transformed the cozy space into both a London flat and the mystical Neverland.

Sarah Benetos, who played the dual roles of Mrs. Darling and Captain Hook, did a phenomenal job capturing a proper English lady and a histrionic, neurotic pirate.

With lots of physical action in the play, the actors were able to move freely and purposely while flying and fleeing from the villains.

Wendy, played by Sophia Modafferi, and Peter, played by Anastasia Kerensky, had wonderful chemistry, especially as they played father and mother to the Lost Boys of Neverland.
