Patchogue held its second annual Pride Parade on Sunday, June 9.
Main Street was filled with vibrant colors and joyous celebrations. Starting at noon, the parade ran from Route 112 westward toward Blue Point, bringing the community together in a spectacular display of unity and pride.
The streets were flooded with Pride flags and balloons, creating a festive atmosphere that welcomed all. Local restaurants, including That Meetball Place and Blue Point Brewing Co., participated with their own decorated floats, adding to the parade’s lively spirit.
The parade kicked off with the officials from the Incorporated Village of Patchogue proudly carrying a banner that read “Working Together For You.” Their presence underscored the village’s commitment to inclusivity and community support.
This year’s grand marshals, Al Milite, and Jose Pagon, led the parade.
Families lined the streets, cheering as the parade passed by. The event was designed to be family-friendly, ensuring a safe and welcoming environment for attendees of all ages. Children waved rainbow flags and delighted in the colorful floats and lively music that accompanied them.
The parade concluded with a visit from gay Santa, Santa John 631, dressed in rainbow robes and riding in a sled amidst foam snow.
Patchogue’s Pride Parade has quickly become a cherished tradition, showcasing the community’s dedication to celebrating love, diversity, and togetherness. As the event grows each year, it continues to strengthen the bonds within the community, proving that Patchogue is a place where everyone is welcome and celebrated.
