On Sunday, Dec. 17, Bayport’s resident piano man, J. K. Hodge, gave a winter recital complete the yuletide aesthetic with a Fair Isle sweater and a roaring fireplace.
The audience was treated to Hodge’s unique arrangements of Christmas classics that included a jaunty, jazzy, and Jiminy Cricket sensibility in their joyously light-hearted flair.
Included were some additional treats of Hodge’s original music themed for the season with titles like “Snow Drops” and “Snow Fall” that displayed the characteristic wide-eyed ethereal quality and hopefulness that is so often found in a Hodge composition.
