Suffolk County Police Homicide Squad detectives are investigating an incident where a boyfriend and girlfriend were found dead at their residence in Shirley on August 18, police said in a release.
Seventh Precinct officers responded to 11 Park Circle following a 911 call from the location at 4:48 p.m. Upon arrival, officers found Destiny Leinfus, 20, and Gavin Bifalco, 19, deceased from gunshot wounds inside the house. Detectives are investigating who fired the shots. Detectives believe one or both died from self-inflicted injuries.
The pair lived with Leinfus' parents.
An autopsy will be performed by personnel from the Office of the Suffolk County Medical Examiner.
