The Teeny Awards Gala, presented by the Islip Arts Council, is an annual event that celebrates the achievements of high school theater students within the Town of Islip.

The gala, modeled after the Tony Awards, aims to recognize outstanding talent in local high school theater productions. Since its inception in 2009, the awards gala has not only honored performers but also encouraged students to pursue further education and careers in the performing arts.

Each year, the gala features a red-carpet event followed by an awards ceremony, where students are recognized in various categories such as acting, directing, technical design, and ensemble performance.

The 2025 Teeny Awards will mark the 17th annual celebration. The event has grown significantly over the years, now involving more than 18,000 students from 11 high schools.

Funds raised through donations and sponsorships during the gala are allocated to scholarship awards and the administration of this student recognition program. The Islip Arts Council continues to support and promote the arts within the Town of Islip, with the Teeny Awards serving as a testament to its commitment to nurturing young talent.

The 2025 Teeny Awards will take place on June 8. Performers from the Town of Islip high schools will take to the red carpet at 5 p.m. The show starts at 7 p.m. at Brentwood High School.
