We asked our readers to let us know what they admire most about the nurses in their lives who serve our community.
Here are the responses:
Karen Edmondson of East Patchogue, school nurse at Verne W. Critz Elementary in South Country Central School District
Nominated by: Jamie Wahl and Jen Engelage
We nominated Karen because she is the most selfless person we know. She ensures all students and staff are healthy, is silly when students are shy, and soothing when they’re scared. From putting a Band-Aid on their finger or their heart, she is truly an asset to the district. Karen is a loving wife, sister, friend, and mom, not only to her son and daughter, but to all students at Verne W. Critz Elementary.
Stefani Pagliuca of Blue Point, nurse practitioner, cardiology
Nominated by: Brian Pagliuca
I admire her for her hard work throughout the COVID-19 pandemic
while being pregnant and high risk.
