Oakdale remembers their own

Posted

The Knights of Columbus Sunrise Council 6607 spearheaded an honorable and heartfelt tribute to two Oakdale heroes on Monday, May 30, at the Oakdale train station.

The families of Cpl. Francis Todarello and Spc. Matthew Baylis were present to witness the playing of taps, laying of wreaths, and words to honor these men who gave everything in defense of our freedom.

Also present were Islip Town supervisor Angie Carpenter and Town of Islip councilman Jim O’Connor.

“The Oakdale community is indeed a family—shown by the wonderful turnout for two truly wonderful young men,” said Maryann Almes, president of the Oakdale Historical Society.
