Earlier last month, the Town of Islip introduced JetBlue flights coming out of Long Island MacArthur Airport in Islip to Boston, Mass. That day is soon arriving, because in just a few months, starting on April 30, Long Islanders will be able to travel to Boston, Mass., in less than an hour.
Not only is this flight beneficial to those planning to vacation in Boston and surrounding areas, but to those who plan to travel to Europe. There are seven connecting flights from Boston Logan International Airport to countries in Europe. After landing in Boston, travelers will be able to board a non-stop flight to London-Heathrow, London-Gatwick, Paris, Amsterdam or Dublin, Ireland.
Also, in April, there will be daily flights from MacArthur to Fort-Lauderdale, Fla. Currently, the flights are only available four days a week.
Additionally, starting in May, there will be non-stop flights from Boston to Edinburgh, Scotland and Madrid, Spain. The announcement is just in time for those looking to book a summer vacation or winter break.
Lastly, those who are 21 and older and miss a touch from Long Island, will be able to enjoy Montauk Brewing Company’s The Surf Beer. The beverage will be served on JetBlue flights, including domestic and international.
The new services will benefit Islip residents, as MacArthur Airport will save on travel time compared to flying out of JFK or LaGuardia Airports.
