Get your spook on with Bay Shore

Calling all witches, ghosts and ghouls. The Bay Shore community will be hosting its annual Haunted Halloween Family Festival on Oct. 18. The spook-tacular event will take place on Bay Shore’s Main Street from 4:30 to 8:30 p.m.

The family-friendly event is an annual one for Bay Shore. Each year residents and nearby locals stop by to enjoy live entertainment, games, treats and trunk-or-treating. For the event, Main Street is closed down to ensure the safety of everyone. Trunk-or-treating also provides parents with a safe way to stop by each Halloween-decorated car with their children.

A new addition to this year’s event will be a 22-foot screen placed at the bandshell. Guests who stop by can enjoy the film “Beetlejuice” and are encouraged to bring chairs and blankets.

“We’re proud to host an evening that brings families, neighbors, and local businesses together,” president of the Greater Bay Shore Chamber of Commerce, Eddie Fraser, said. “It’s a great way to celebrate Halloween, Bay Shore style!”

The event is sponsored by the Greater Bay Shore Chamber of Commerce, Bay Shore Beautification Society, Great South Bay YMCA, Bay Shore Restaurant Committee, Bay Shore Retail Committee and Northwell Health.

Be sure to dress up in your best Halloween costume and stop by Main Street, if you dare.
