A local Blue Point woman lost her wallet at Brinkmann’s True Value on Montauk Highway that contained around $500 in cash and four credit cards.

The intact wallet was returned to her within an hour after a store employee found it.

Angela Stelling posted a photograph of her wallet, with the original cash fanned out, on social media with the caption, “Another reason why we love living in this town. I dropped my wallet in the BP True Value parking lot. Tony (their employee) found it and kept it safe till I could pick it up. Thank you, Tony!”

Over 200 community members reacted positively to the post with comments like, “There’s still some good in this world,” “I tip my hat to you Tony, that will come back to you tenfold,” and “Love this True Value and the employees.”

Sfogliano, who was surprised at the attention the social media post received said, “I don’t get why it’s a big deal, but I’m happy the community liked the story.”
