Get your Earth Day groove thing on and volunteer on April 26 at 9 a.m. to noon. Meet at Village Hall with Bellport’s Beautification Committee.

“We’re doing it in honor of Earth Day,” said committee chair Tom Binnington. “High school students can get credit,” he said, adding he was coordinating the volunteer event with Bellport High School. Among the items supplied are clips and bags from the Highway Department. Gloves will also be handed out.

“People can call village hall to sign up (631-286-0327), so we can get an idea of who is attending,” Binnington said. “We’ll tackle most of the streets in the village, including Mother’s Beach, Osborn Park and Head of Neck.”
