Annual Snowflake Sale

Bay Shore Historical Society open house

Posted

The Bay Shore Historical Society celebrated the beginning of the holiday season with an open house at their headquarters in Bay Shore. It was also the start of their Snowflake Sale, just in time for Small Business Saturday. Members of the historical society and the public gathered throughout the house, talking, looking at holiday goods, and touring the house’s museum exhibits.

The Gibson-Mack-Holt House was decorated with holiday decor from both the past and present. Mixed in with the decorations were various different items for sale, including small Christmas-themed statues, small picture frames, historical note cards, ornaments, glassware, and more. Also on display was their  2024 monthly calendar, which had photos of local establishments then and now. The calendar fundraiser helps fund the society’s work to preserve local history.

In one of the rooms was a small black TV playing a picture slideshow of old Bay Shore. In the main living room was a beautifully decorated Christmas tree, and sitting beside it was Santa Claus. People were invited to take photos with him.

The Snowflake Shop will be open throughout December on Tuesdays and Saturdays from 1 to 4 p.m.
