Timothy Cooley is running unopposed. He was unable to be reached for comment.

Teal Rizzo, who is running against Dr. James Bertsch (incumbent), was contacted multiple times and refused to comment.

Dr. James Bertsch

Completing his first year as a board member, Dr. Bertsch counts his support of the STRIDES program on emotional literacy as one of his greatest accomplishments. As a school administrator himself and with a doctorate in school leadership, Dr. Bertsch stated, “I’ve learned few things are more important to predicting a child’s future success than mathematical skills. And nowhere are tax dollars more impactful than in a child’s early years.”

With concerns about cuts in state aid due to the pandemic, Dr. Bertsch is concerned with how the 2020-2021 budget will fare. He cites that “the training and experience I have obtained as a school administrator will help me be a qualified board of education member to be able to ask the tough questions, like ‘How do we stretch a dollar?’ ‘How do we continue to offer quality programs and levels we can afford?’”
