Sayville Fall Fest coming Saturday

Saying goodbye to a Long Island summer is a lot easier when you have fun events to look forward to! Come to Sayville’s annual Fall Fest!

This Saturday, Oct. 12 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Main Street will be filled with a full day of fabulous festivities for the whole family, including a petting zoo, rides, craft vendors, a bounce house, and trick-or-treating at participating stores.

At 10 a.m., visit the Sayville Library Kids Zone in front of Chase with Miss Donna. Then, accompanied by Halloween music, kids can join in and meet at the corner of Greene Avenue and Main Street to parade all along Main Street to Railroad Avenue, decked out in their Halloween costumes. After the parade, South Bay Arts Kids featuring Jack Licitra will be back at Chase.
So much to do! There is a full musical lineup of Long Island’s most popular bands at the Candee Avenue stage, starting with Jack’s Waterfall, 11 a.m.–noon; Anne O’Rourke, noon–1 p.m.; Beacon, 1-2 p.m.; Paul Simon’s bassist Bakithi Kumalo from the Graceland tour, 2-3 p.m.; Cassandra House, 3-4 p.m.; and Kerry Kearney, 4-5 p.m.

And, don’t forget to enter one or all of this year’s contests. Pumpkin carving: submit your carved pumpkin by 1 p.m. out front of The Salt Spa; judging is at 3 p.m.; winners announced at 4 p.m.; scarecrow entries can be dropped off at JD Chandlery by 1 p.m.; judging at 2:30 p.m.; winners announced at 3:30 p.m.;  Finally, there’s a homemade pie contest; you can drop off your yummy pie at the Sayville Chocolatier by noon; judging at 2 p.m.; the winner will be announced at 3 p.m.
“The Sayville Chamber Fall Fest is great traditional family fun—a great day to visit downtown Sayville and enjoy every inch of our Main Street stores that are all contributing to make this a great day,” said Eileen Tyzner, president, Sayville Chamber of Commerce.

Several of the stores will have ongoing craft projects: Catbird Seat will be doing a fall craft leaf dictating and painting of small pumpkins donated by the Sayville Chamber;
Hammer and Stain is doing a fall craft; our newest TiggyWinks Boutique is doing a fall bead craft table. Cafe Joelle will be hosting an outdoor cafe throughout the event.  Check out the great food at all of our Sayville restaurants, with many featuring their fall menus.

For more information, see the chamber website,, or the Sayville Chamber Facebook page. This event is rain or shine.
