No LIRR service east of Babylon for two weekends

Starting late Friday Oct. 13 and Oct. 20 Rider and Bay avenues in Patchogue will be completely closed to vehicular and pedestrian traffic from late Friday evening until 8 p.m. Sunday evening for both weekends.

There will also be no LIRR service between Babylon and Montauk over both weekends.

This inconvenience is so that major work to install new siding to the east of the Patchogue LIRR station between Rider and Bay Avenues.

This the culmination of a long effort to extend the existing siding in the area currently between Rider and South Ocean Avenues so that it is away from residential homes on Baker and Academy streets.

Work is weather dependent, so dates could change.
